E-mail can be Injurious to Your Career!

Overview

E-mail is the primary business communication method today.  The good news is it is quick and easy.  The bad news is it is quick and easy.  Everyone uses it; yet few of you have been trained how to effectively ... and safely ... use this pervasive informal communication tool. You may have been trained to write formal letters, proposals and resumes; however, which written tool do you use much more?  Do your e-mails really communicate?  Do you get the responses you want?  Do you know how to read people through their e-mails without meeting them face-to-face?  Would you like to learn?  Assessment tool included.

Participants Will Learn

  • How to construct an effective message
  • The importance of brevity and clarity
  • Why you have to keep humanness in mind even though you are interacting with an inanimate machine
  • How fonts, color and punctuation send messages, too
  • How to read between the lines similar to how you use body language in person
  • When you may not want to send/respond on your Blackberry
  • Why you may have to modify or adapt your online communication to build/enhance relationships

Who Should Attend

Executives through administrative staff since everyone communicates through e-mail today.
